Meet the Family

Cat’s passion for horses began at the tender age of four when she started riding Hunter/Jumpers in Los Angeles. Throughout her childhood and into her early career, she honed her skills in the equestrian world, gaining valuable experience and a deep love for horses. However, her equestrian career came to a pause when she moved to St. Paul, Minnesota, for college. It wasn’t until she moved to the East Coast that she was able to rediscover her passion.
After meeting her husband, Joe, and moving to the Eastern Shore of Maryland, the couple made the life-changing decision to purchase Big Red Farm in 2010. Together, they began working towards their dream of creating a small, boutique-style equestrian facility that focuses on quality care and personalized experiences for both horses and riders.
Joe, originally from Pittsburgh, PA, made his way to Ocean City in the early 80s, taking a chance on a new adventure. His incredible craftsmanship and handyman skills were instrumental in transforming the farm into the beautiful and functional space it is today. Without Joe’s hard work and vision, Big Red Farm wouldn’t have become the thriving facility it is now.
Together, Cat and Joe are dedicated to creating a welcoming, family-oriented environment that nurtures both horse and rider. Their unique combination of passion, experience, and dedication ensures that Big Red Farm is a tranquil escape for your wellness journey.
